Horn solo from the second movement of Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony played by Mike at Leeds Town Hall.
Although Mike has been active in the symphonic repertoire in the past and playing as a soloist in performances of Mozart's 4th Concerto, and 1st horn in the Schumann Concertstuck, because of conducting commitments, he mainly plays chamber music with the Eldon Wind Quintet and freelances in the Yorkshire area. He has played the horn obliggato in the Bach B minor mass over 20 times.
Mike plays on an Englebert Schmidt horn. The bells on these two horns are interchangeable giving four possible combinations of instrument and bell size.
